POSITION TITLE: COMMUNITY CENTRE CO-ORDINATOR

WORK SCHEDULE: Part Time position - **Apply on the website** hours per
week. To be worked over at least 5 days, some evening and weekend work
required.

REPORTS TO: Belarmine Community Centre Management Committee
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Community Centre Co-Ordinator will play a key role in ensuring the
smooth running of the Community Centre.
Working closely with the Centre?s Management Committee the Co
-Ordinator will ensure that Belarmine Community Centre is a vibrant,
well-run?facility for local residents, those booking Centre space and
all centre users.
THE ROLE:
OPERATION OF THE CENTRE
* Overseeing?the Centre and Community Employment staff (clerical,
cleaning and caretaking)
* Ensuring the effective day to day running of the centre for the
benefit of the Management Committee, staff and centre users Ensuring
effective maintenance of the building - including building maintenance
and improvement programmes, supervising contractors and others
regarding works in the centre
* Responsibility for health and safety and security in the centre as
well as safe storage of equipment and management of storage space
* Ensuring the Centre has up to date policies and procedures and
taking responsibility to ensure that these are complied with
* Overall responsibility for securing bookings and subsequently
increasing bookings and thereby developing relationships with centre
users and?other stakeholders in the community
* Coordinating and marketing activities to be run from the centre,
including social and recreational activities, open days and other
social events
* Liaising with the centre Treasurer in respect to financial
accounts and invoicing etc
* Issuing of purchase orders, completion of reports/returns to
statutory bodies and funders and compilation of relevant grant
applications
COORDINATION OF STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
* Supervising of and support to clerical, finance, cleaning and
caretaking staff employed through a Community Employment Progrramme
* Creating staff rotas to ensure appropriate levels of cover
* Developing effective liaison between staff, contractors,
volunteers and centre users, to ensure the smooth running of the
Centre and its activities.
* Working with local partners to ensure activities at the Centre fit
with others provided in the area and developing close working
relationships with key local partners
THE HOLDER:

REQUIREMENTS:
The post holder will need to be self-reliant, energetic and able to
prioritise activities. The post holder will also need a commitment to
motivating members of the community to get involved as volunteers.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
* At least **Apply on the website** months experience of coordinating
services and/ or managing teams
* Experience in staff and team coordination
* Experience of using Health and Safety and other policies and
procedures relevant to community centre settings, including risk
assessment and maintenance management
Experience of working in partnership, ideally within a community
buildings environment
Experience of marketing, preferably on social media platforms
